What we believe

Moving a part of your life into storage can be stressful. We started Trove because we found that, too often, the storage experience doesn’t focus on the most important aspect—you.
From your first phone call to your final return, our team at Trove will treat you and your belongings with the respect you—and they—deserve. Trove is storage as simple as it should be.

Founding story
Our story began on US Highway 101. During his time as an Entrepreneur-in-Residence at Greylock Partners, Mike would often pick up Jon from Jon’s office in Menlo Park to make the trip home to San Francisco, during which they would pass dozens of self-storage facilities. On one of their drives home, Mike turned to Jon and asked, "why are all these here?" The answer, of course, was that people prefer to be close to their storage units. Mike and Jon realized that a full-service storage experience could not only be more convenient for customers but also free up space in communities for better uses, from parks to housing. And somewhere along the 101…Trove was born.
